FOR GROWN-UPS

A cosy Christmas game for little hands

What it is

Christmas tic-tac-toe (noughts and crosses) with a cheerful Santa and a cheeky elf instead of X and O. Play the computer on Easy or Tricky, or take turns with a friend on one device.

What children practise

Taking turns, spotting patterns and thinking one move ahead. Easy makes friendly mistakes; Tricky plays carefully, so a tie is a proud result.

Safe and private

No sign-up, no ads, nothing to download. Children never type anything, nothing is saved, and there are no advertising trackers or Google Analytics.

More free Christmas fun: explore Santa’s North Pole map, and on Christmas Eve follow Santa’s sleigh on the Santa Tracker.

FOR PARENTS

Questions grown-ups ask

Is Santa vs Elf free?

Yes. The game is free to play as often as you like, with no sign-up, no ads and nothing to download.

Does it collect my child’s information?

No. There is nothing to type and nothing is sent anywhere. The score lives only in the open page and is gone when you close it. There are no ads, no advertising trackers and no Google Analytics on this page.

How hard is the computer?

Easy makes friendly mistakes, so young children can win. Tricky always takes a win or blocks one when it can and plans ahead, so a tie is a great result and a win takes real thinking.

Can two children play on one device?

Yes. Choose 2 players and pass the phone or tablet between turns. The scoreboard keeps count until you start a new game, and Switch sides lets the players swap Santa and the Elf, taking their points with them.

Which devices does it work on?

Phones, tablets such as iPad, laptops and desktop computers, in any modern browser. Play by touch, with a mouse, or with the arrow keys and Enter. Screen readers announce every move, and the speaker button turns the jingles on or off.

Can my child talk to Santa?

Yes, on a live video call that a parent or guardian books, with a grown-up nearby. Read how it works and how we keep calls safe.
