Terms of Service

These Terms are an agreement between you and Edmonton Event Rentals (“Book a Santa Call”, “we”). By booking or using Book a Santa Call you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

1. The service

Book a Santa Call provides live, personalised video calls between a child and Santa, delivered through your web browser. Each standard call lasts approximately 7 minutes. Calls are for personal, non-commercial family use.

2. Who can book

You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) and the parent or legal guardian of the child taking part, or have their permission. You agree that a parent or guardian will be present or nearby for the entire call. Book a Santa Call is currently offered in the United States and Canada.

3. About Santa

Santa is a real-time artificial-intelligence character. He is designed to be warm, child-appropriate and to follow strict safety rules, but like any AI he may occasionally misunderstand or say something imperfect. Santa does not make promises on behalf of parents, and nothing Santa says about gifts creates any obligation. How you explain Santa to your child is entirely your choice.

4. Bookings and payment

  • Prices are shown in US dollars (USD) and are charged at booking. Your bank may apply currency conversion fees.
  • Applicable sales taxes (including GST/HST/PST/QST in Canada) are shown at checkout.
  • Your booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation email.
  • A selected time is held for 10 minutes during checkout. If payment isn’t completed, the time is released.
  • Holiday dates (December 24, 25 and 26) have limited capacity and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

5. Rescheduling

You may reschedule free of charge up to 2 hours before your call, to any available time, from your dashboard or booking email. Holiday times are subject to availability.

6. Cancellations and refunds

  • If we can’t connect your call because of a problem on our side, we will refund you in full or rebook you — your choice.
  • Rescheduling is free up to 2 hours before your call.
  • Otherwise, a booked call is not refundable. This does not affect any rights you have under consumer law.
  • If your connection drops, rejoin from your booking for the time that remains.
  • Missed calls (no one joins within 10 minutes of the start time) are not refundable, but we’ll try to rebook you if times are available.

Refunds go to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer-protection laws where you live.

7. Gifted calls

A gifted call can be booked by the recipient family any time until December 26 of the year purchased. If it isn’t booked by then, the purchaser is refunded automatically. Gift messages must be appropriate for children; we may decline messages that aren’t.

8. During the call

Please don’t use Book a Santa Call to harass, record others without consent, or attempt to make Santa produce inappropriate content. We may end a call and suspend an account that misuses the service, without refund. Personal recordings you make yourself on another device are for private family use only.

9. Availability

We work hard to keep Book a Santa Call running smoothly, especially on holidays, but we can’t guarantee uninterrupted service. Our commitment if something goes wrong on our side is described in section 6.

10. Our content

The Book a Santa Call name, website, Santa character design and content belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the service for your family. Keepsake recordings (if offered) are for personal, non-commercial use.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections where you live.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Changes won’t affect bookings already made unless required by law.
