FOLLOWING YOUR CHILD’S LEAD

What kids talk to Santa about

Santa follows your child’s lead. If they go quiet, he gently offers something to talk about, or one short Christmas story: Rudolph’s missing bell, the elf’s little Christmas tree or Mrs. Claus’s warm mittens.

  • What they’re proud of this year
  • Christmas wishes
  • Their pets
  • Rudolph and the reindeer
  • The elves and Mrs. Claus
  • Their Christmas tree
  • Favourite Christmas songs
  • Plans for Christmas Eve

Questions kids ask Santa

Examples from Santa’s guide. Every conversation is different, and Santa answers in a sentence or two, then waits for your child.

“What do elves eat?”
Santa: “They love warm soup and gingerbread.”
“Where is Rudolph?”
Santa: “He’s resting in his warm stable.”
“Where is Mrs. Claus?”
Santa: “She’s keeping the workshop warm and cosy.”
“Will I get a puppy?”
Santa listens to a wish as a wish. He never promises a present.

What Santa asks your child

Santa opens with “Hello there! It’s Santa. Who am I speaking with?” and uses your child’s name once they’ve said it. After that he asks one easy question at a time, about their Christmas, what they’re proud of or the things you added to his notebook, and leaves time for them to answer.

He never asks for an address, school, contact details, photos or secrets. How we keep calls safe →

Tips for shy or very young children

If your child goes quiet, that’s fine. Santa waits, and if he can’t hear clearly he asks once more or invites their grown-up to help.

Ages 2–3

Sit them on your lap, close to the screen. Santa speaks slowly with simple words and tells the short version of his stories. Waving and listening count.

Ages 4–6

Help them think of one question beforehand, like where Rudolph is. It gives a shy child an easy way in.

Ages 7–9

Add a real achievement to the notebook, like a reading streak or a new skill, so Santa can ask about it.

Brothers and sisters

Each child can have their own back-to-back visit, with 20% off each extra child, so nobody has to share the spotlight.

Can my child chat with Santa by text?

No. Talking to Santa here is a spoken conversation on video. There’s no text chat, and Santa doesn’t send texts, messages or voicemail.

Who is Santa on the call?

Santa is a real-time AI character with a warm voice and an animated video face. We tell parents so before they book, and how you share that with your child is up to you. Meet our AI Santa →
